Spoon Open to Practice this Weekend
Special Announcement
Spoon River Speedway will be having Practice for ANY division cars that would like to participate this Sat June 6th and Sun June 7th from 12 to 3. Gates will open at 10:30 both days.
NO Concessions
The Main Grandstands will be closed to spectators. KNOWONE will be Allowed in Grandstand fence area.
$125 per car with 3 people per car including driver. Limited 30 cars per day. (Please bring correct change)
Must have names of who will be attending with car by Friday June 5th to participate. NO Exceptions. You will not be able to just come to the track on Sat or Sun and practice without notifying Brad before the 5th.
Private Message Brad on FaceBook with these names and which day you would like to practice. It will be on a first come basis till filled.
Please bring your own pen to sign waiver and registration forms. You are to remain in your vehicle until you are signaled to pull up to pit shack where your temp will be taken. If anyone has a temp of 100.4 (CDC require) or above you will be refused entry. You are to wear a mask whenever the 6’ social distancing can’t be maintained. If you can’t comply you will be ask to leave property. Pit spots will maintain a 30’ distance between haulers. 3 car max on track at one time. At three o’clock you will be asked to load and be off the property by 3:30.
We know these changes are going to be hard on everybody but if we want to play we are going to have to go by there standards. Please work with us as we all try to get back to some kind of normal. Hopefully we will be racing soon!!

30th Plow Boy Nationals $10,000 to Win for Modifieds
Here’s a Special New Year present for all you Modified Driver’s and Fans,
We are going all out to celebrate the 30th running of the Modified Plow Boy Nationals on Sunday Night Sept 6th at the High Banked 3/8’s mile oval. To celebrate this historic night Spoon River Speedway will for the first time in its history pay $10,000 to the DirtCar Modified feature winner. This should bring in the best of the best Modified driver’s in the country to try and put their name in the Spoon record books as a Plow Boy Champion. There has been a different feature winner the last 15 years. Nick Hoffman won the rain delayed feature event in 2019. Who will be the first $10,000 to win feature winner at Spoon in 2020? Should be an exciting night of racing so mark it on your calendars now!!! Complete payout and details on the race TBA.

2020 Spoon River Tentative Schedule Released
The Spoon River Speedway 2020 Tentative Schedule has been released.
Once again we will feature five divisions of racing, DirtCar Modifieds, DirtCar Pro Late Models, E-Mods, USAC/IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets and the DirtCar Hornets.
We are still working on adding a couple more Specials and another car show so stay tuned.
We have scheduled two play days for 2020, April 12th and 18th.
Opening Night will be on Saturday Night April 25th Featuring the POWRI WARS Wingless Sprint Series along with our other divisions.
Highlighting the month of May will be the DirtCar Modifieds with Modified May Challenge. Specials every Sat or Sunday nights for the Modifieds with points accumulated to determine the Modified May Challenge Champ at the end of the month. It will all begin on May 2nd at First Responders Night with the Mods running for $1000 to win, On May 9th, the Mother’s Day Special Mods will run for $1200 to win. Then the next two weekends will be Memorial races. First up on May 16th will be the Greg Gilmore Memorial with Mods running for $1500 to win followed by the Gary Cook Jr Memorial on Sunday May 24th with the Mods running for $2064 to win. The last race in the month of May will be on the 30th with the crowning of the Modified May Challenge Champion who will receive at the end of the night $1500 for winning the May Challenge points.
The Summer Nationals Hell Tour will be on Thursday Night June 25th.
The DirtCar Pro Lates will run for $1000 to win on Saturday night July 11th.
In 2020 you will see the return of the Quick Draw 45 and Tuff Spoon races. We will once again show appreciation to our fans on Sat night Aug 1st with FREE General Admission night and this will also be Meet the Drivers Nights.
Sunday night Sept 6th will be the 30th running of the Plow Boy Nationals featuring the DirtCar Modifieds running for $10,000 to Win. Then on Saturday Night Sept 12th will be the 34th running of the Tom Knowles Memorial featuring the MOWA 410 Sprint Cars and the Lucas Oil POWRI National Midgets. Also running will be the USAC/IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets for the Aaron Hull Memorial and the DirtCar Modifieds.
We will once again have the Monster Mash-a- Mania featuring the Hornets and E-Mods with another class TBA on tentative dates of Oct 2nd and 3rd.
There will be Specials through the year for our E-Mods, SpeeD2 Midgets and Hornets with special purses TBA.
We will be closed for at least two weekends in 2020. The first weekend closed will be on the 4th of July and we will also be shut down on Saturday night July 25th for the Fulton County Fair.
We are working on some more specials for Super Lates and Sprint cars so stay tuned for updates.
We will once again have specials for the kids throughout the year like the bicycle races, Candy Dashes, Box Races and give aways for the Kids and Fans.
I hope to see everyone new and old back at the 3/8's mile High Banked clay oval in 2020.

Monster Mash-A-Mania
Monster Mash-A-Mania sponsored by Fulton Farm Service and Bartonville Express Lube is just two weeks away. Don’t forget to get your pre-registration mailed in by Oct 5th. They can be found on Spoon’s website under the rules tab. Free camping Friday and Saturday nights. Bone fire Friday night after racing action is completed. This will be the last race of the 2019 season. Fast Qualifier in the Hornets and E-Mods will receive $50. The SpeeD2 Fast Qualifier Thanks to Prairie State Bank and Trust of Fulton County will receive $200. Heat race winners will pick up an extra $30, second $20 and third $10. Car in each division that advances farthest in shuffle will receive an extra $25. Shuffle winners will receive $30. Stay tuned for anymore additions to the racing action. 29TH Modified Plow Boy Nationals to be ran on Monday Afternoon Sept 2nd
After saturating rains on Sunday morning and no sunshine Spoon River Speedway Officials were forced to cancel Sunday Nights race and use their makeup date of Monday Sept 2nd. With no one else racing on Monday Spoon is expecting a huge field of cars in all four divisions that will be competing. Modifieds will still be running for 50 laps for $5000 to win. The Super Late Models will be running 25 laps for $2000 to win. Also on hand will be the USAC/IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets and the Hornets. To hopefully get done earlier we have moved times earlier in the day.
Pits will Open at 11 am. End of draw is 2:15

Modified Plow Boy Nationals
The 29th running of The DirtCar Modified Plow Boy Nationals, formally the Fall Nationals, will be held on Sunday Night Sept 1st (Rain Date Sept 2nd)at the High Banked 3/8’s mile oval of the Spoon River Speedway. Top Modified drivers from all over the national are expected to compete for the $5000 to win fifty lap feature event. One Modified driver will also get the chance to go to the rear and if they can win pick up an extra $2000. There will also be two ten lap $250 to win non-feature qualifier races for the Modifieds. This is one of Spoons biggest races that you won’t want to miss. Also on hand will be the DirtCar Super Late Models running twenty five laps for $2000 to Win, the USAC/IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets and the DirtCar Hornets. Times and prices are listed on the flyer.
