We at the Spoon River Speedway have been working hard to get our track open and are excited to announce that with the cooperation of the FCHD we have been cleared to OPEN this SATURDAY Night June 13th under the DCEO OutDoor Recreations Guidelines. Below will be some of the guidelines we will be following so pay close ATTENTION Drivers and Fans. This Saturday June 13th will be the Gary Cook Jr Memorial Race with the DirtCar Modifieds running for $2564 to Win and $150 to start their feature event. Also on hand will be the DirtCar Pro L/M's running for $500 to win their feature event, the E-Mods/B-Mods running for $450 to Win their feature event and the DirtCar Hornets running for $300 to Win their feature event. Grandstands will be Restricted to 500 Adults or so and 50 Kids to maintain the social distancing guidelines set forth. This will be a first come first serve basis at the front gate. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Please NO Bad Mouthing or Complaining about Spoon or any other track or you will be removed from the comments. We are doing our best and are just happy we got the OK to open. Pits will Open at 2 Grandstands at 5 Hot Laps at 6 then Mod TT Followed by racing General Admission will be $15 Kids 5 thru 10 are $5 Adult Pit Pass $35 Kids 5 thru 10 Pit Pass $20 Below are some of the Guidelines we will be following. Co-Vid 19 Procedures
1 – All Participants, spectators and SRS employees will be required to wear PPE facemask when 6ft social distancing isn’t possible.
2 – Temps will be checked at Grandstand and Pit entrances before entrance (CDC 100.4) At or above entry will be denied.
3 – Grandstands Sections will be marks off at 30ft for social distancing for groups of 10 until Phase 4 or until group sizes are changed
4 – Pit haulers will be spaced at 15ft for social distancing
5 – All concession workers will be required to wear a mask at all times around food and abide by IDPH food standards.
6 – A sneeze/cough guard will be installed at ticket and concession windows where necessary
7 – Cleaning and sanitizing of common areas like restrooms, picnic tables, rails, entry doorknobs, etc every hour at high traffic areas
8 – Ahead of event, SRS will provide spectator capacity until we are up to 100%.
9 – Drivers and crew will be asked to stay in vehicles until they reach pit shack to maintain social distancing. At this point your temp will be taken (CDC 100.4) If you are at or above you will be denied entry
10 – Drivers and Pit crew members will be asked to bring their own pen to sign insurance waiver
11 – All transponders will be sanitized before event and after before being stored for next event
12 – Draw will be conducted by computer
13 – Transponders are to be returned in at Pit sign in shack before leaving property
14 – There will be NO group Victory Lane pictures or Interviews. NO one out of grandstands will be allowed in Pits for pictures until restrictions are lifted
15 – All checks will be mailed on following Monday or day after holiday until restrictions are lifted
16 – Their will be NO gathering at any time of more than 10 people at any area of SRS until guide lines change.
17 – All drivers will be asked to leave pits once their feature is over. NO gatherings after races. You will have 30 minutes to exit property after last feature is ran.
18 – Fans will be asked to leave SRS property once races are completed
19 – There will be NO practicing after races
20 – We know this is hard for everyone involved but at least we are able to race under these guidelines with the help of the FCHD. Please help abide by these guide lines to keep everyone safe
