This Saturday Night April 16th will be the 33rd time Spoon River Speedway has opened it's doors for some of the best stock car racing in Central Illinois. The High Banked 3/8 mile D shaped oval will be introducing one of the most growing divisions in motorsports, the USAC/IMRA Speed 2 Midgets sponsored by NuTech Seed which will be running for $500 to win this Saturday night. Back once again will be the Zane's Automotive Service UMP Modifieds paying this Saturday nights feature winner $1000, the Perkins Seed House UMP Pro Late Models, the Farmington Locker E-Mods, the Fulton Farm Service UMP Hornets and the Spoon 6-Shooters.
Transponders are being introduced in 2016 for the Modifieds and Midgets to start the season. Modifieds will get two laps group qualifing, while the Midgets will group qualify through their hot laps. All other classes will qualify through their heat races. We will redraw all classes at intermission behind the flagman. Anywhere from six to eight driver's will redraw for their starting positions in the feature. Whoever catches the winners frizbee will be allowed to come down on the track and get your picture taken with them. We will also be giving away 4 bicycles (2 Girls and 2 Boys) donated by the late Marvin Williams wife Debra. A $25 gas card donated by BP gas will be giving away along with some items donated by Hoosier tire.
Pit Gate will open at 3. Grandstands Open at 5. Hot Laps 6:15 Followed by Modified TT

Transponders, Pouch and charger can be purchased for $250 or you can rent one for $10 plus Driver's license. Pouches are $15.
NO LARGE Purses are Allowed. NO Backpacks Allowed
Cooler size is 14X10X12 Tall (NO EXCEPTIONS) $5 EVERYTIME THROUGH GATE. NO FOOD OR GLASS.
