This Sunday Night Sept 4th at the Spoon River Speedway you will see some of the best Driver’s on dirt do battle on the high banked 3/8’s mile oval during the 26th running of the UMP Modified Fall Nationals with the American Modified Series on board once again. Once again the modified driver’s will duel it out in a 50 Lap feature paying the winner $5000. Last year saw over 60 modifieds and over 130 cars total show up with Newton, Illinois driver Chad Kinder taking home the $5000 pay check. Top driver’s in the Nation like National point leader Michael Long, second in National points Mike Harrison, Allen Weisser, Ray Bollinger and the AMS stars like Trent Young, Josh Harris, Matt Cooper, Mark Lamont with many more will be at the Spoon to do battle in the modified division.
Also running will be the always fast UMP Super Late Models. Stars like Bobby Piece, Jason Feger, Shannon Babb, Kevin Weaver and Bob Gardner have all said they plan on attending this race paying the 25 lap feature winner $2500. (Super L/M Tire Rule - 20's Only on LF,RF and LR. 40 ONLY on RR) The UMP Pro Late Models and E-Mods will fill out the racing card for Sunday night. With the season winding down, this is a race you don’t want to miss. The National points are close in all these divisions and the top dogs will be there to do battle with only four weeks remaining to gather National points before the season ends on Saturday Night Sept 24th.
FCRC will have a table setup to raffle off a couple of baskets full of goodies. One with racing shirts and stuff and another one with wine and a dinner certificate. They will also have a homemade Cubs wind chime all to be raffled off this Sunday Night. The track will also have goodies to give away all night long.
Pits will open at 3 with the Grandstands opening at 5. Hot Laps are scheduled for 6:15 followed by racing to begin around 7.
