Nichols Survives for Spoon Burger Triumph

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Lewistown, IL) In a race riddled with cautions, Jeremy Nichols survived a late race charge from AJ Meiferdt to capture his second series victory.

Twenty-two MSSC Street Stocks were on hand for the inaugural Spoon Burger 40 at Spoon River Speedway. Jeremy Nichols started off the night on a good note, capturing the Driven Racing Oil Fast Time Award. Nichols would also win Heat Race #1. Tyler Gilmour won Heat Race #2 and Jerrad Krick won Heat Race #3. Jeremy Nichols also grabbed top honors in the JAZ Products Dash.

Jeremy Nichols would jump out to an early lead and maintain the point after challenges from several drivers. Nichols would hold on as the left front of his car would start to lean inward and also through caution flag after caution flag. AJ Meiferdt would finish a strong second with Jerrad Krick, Dave Crawley, JR., and Michael Clark rounding out the top five.

At the end of the night, Jerrad Krick leads Dave Crawley, JR. by four points for the Series Championship.
